Dr. Maria Faulk was born in Guatemala and moved to North Carolina with her family at the age of 6. She grew up in Raleigh and attended NC State University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences with a minor in biotechnology in 2002. She continued on to attend Salus University in Pennsylvania to receive her optometry doctorate in 2011.

 

After optometry school, she returned to North Carolina and settled in Gastonia in 2014 with her husband, who is also an optometrist, and son. During her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family to NC mountains and NC beaches and reading.

 

Dr. Faulk is fluent in Spanish and is happy to serve the Latino community.
