If you wear glasses and have been wearing a mask out in public, you've quickly discovered that doing so can make your glasses fog up. While this is extremely annoying, there are some simple workarounds to stop your glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask!
Below you'll find 8 things to try to prevent your glasses from fogging up while wearing a mask.
1) Move your mask up higher on your nose
Moving your mask up higher on your nose allows your glasses to weigh down your mask and prevent air from escaping and fogging up your lenses. Of course, this works better for those with larger frames.
2) Make a small glasses adjustment
By adjusting your glasses nose pads, you can position your glasses farther from your face. This allows air to easily escape without fogging up your lenses. Unfortunately, this isn't a viable option for those with frames without nose pads and can alter your prescription.
3) Tighten your mask so air doesn't flow out upward towards your glasses
By tightening up your mask, you'll provide a better seal between your mask and your face. This prevents your glasses from fogging by preventing air from escaping upwards.
4) Create a custom mask that fits your face perfectly
Having a hard time finding a mask that fits your face? Make your own! There are tons of outstanding YouTube videos on how to create a custom mask that will help prevent your glasses from fogging up.
5) Seal your mask with surgical tape or tissue paper
By applying surgical tape or using a kleenex, you can prevent the flow of air from your mouth to your eyes. Personally, I've found the surgical tape works better than tissue paper but both are viable options to consider.
6) Apply soap and water
This is a common trick used by healthcare professionals. Just wash your lenses with soapy water and allow them to air dry (or gently wipe them off with a soft cloth).
7) Purchase anti-fog lens spray
Did you know our partners at LensCrafters sells Zero Fog Plus anti-fogging lens spray? It's extremely effective and is available for $8!
8) Purchase anti-fog lenses
Anti-fog lenses have been around for a while and are very effective. In fact, Essilor has antifog lenses and coatings that can be applied to your glasses.
